Saints Speak from Mrs. Marshall - 4/28/2022 - Appreciating Our Teachers
I've heard that last week’s Mother Son Outing at Main Event was a lot of fun, and I know the girls are excited for this weekend’s Daddy Daughter Dance! Thank you to the fantastic ASPA parents that have planned these events for our students to gather with family and friends.
As a reminder, next week is Teacher Appreciation Week! Thank you again to the ASPA volunteers who are organizing such a great week for our teachers. Please remind your children to show their appreciation throughout the week as well, whether it’s writing a note or just pausing to say a heartfelt “thank you.” These simple expressions of gratitude are powerful in reminding teachers they are valued, loved, and appreciated for all they do.
As we continue actively planning for the 2022-2023 school year, I wanted to share a staffing update. Sr. Maria Musto, one of our current preschool teachers, will be transitioning into the role of Campus Minister in the fall! As campus minister, she will assist with our liturgical planning, serve on our Catholic Identity Committee, help plan retreats for staff and students, support vocation awareness, and serve as a resource for the prayer and devotional life of the school. As part of the Mantellate Sisters Servants of Mary, Sr. Maria has a wealth of knowledge and a deep faith to share with our entire school community. I look forward to working with her in this new capacity!
April was Autism Awareness Month. On Tuesday, our 5th-8th graders had a virtual guest speaker to teach the students more about autism and autism spectrum disorder. The students also learned about our Person of the Month St. Thorlak, the proposed patron saint of autism. You can learn more about St. Thorlak from our 3rd and 7th grade students – click here for the 3rd grade video, or click here for the 7th grade video.
Last Saturday, five of our 7th graders competed in the State Science Fair, held at Bradley University in Peoria. We are proud to share that all five of these students earned Gold! Congratulations to Brody Best, Erin Kathmann, Alex Snyder, Liz Thomas, and Tyler Wojtowicz on this great accomplishment! Thank you to Mrs. Detwiler and Mrs. Hoeft for guiding them through the Science Fair process.
The Easter season is a great time to reconnect and get more involved with the church! Several of our supporting parishes are looking for volunteers for upcoming events. Use the links below for more information or to sign up.
For Thankful Thursday today, we’d like to thank Station Side Dental Care! Dr. Choi is an ASCA parent and a great support of All Saints. Please visit the Station Side website and consider them for your dental needs!
