Saints Speak from Mrs. Marshall - 4/24/2025 - Blessed are all those who have not seen and have believed
Our saint this week is St. Thomas the Apostle, often known as Doubting Thomas. When he first heard that Jesus had risen from the dead, he did not believe until he had seen for himself. We can sometimes be like Thomas, questioning what is real and losing faith. The Gospel of John reminds us, “Blessed are all those who have not seen and have believed.” In this Easter season, may we all stay strong in our faith, believing even when we cannot see.
We have been praying a novena for Pope Francis each morning as part of our daily prayers. We will continue our novena throughout next week to complete the nine days. We will continue to pray for the College of Cardinals as they select our new pope and use this process as a great learning opportunity for the students.
The Enchanted Bookshop
Our students have been working so hard to get ready for the spring play, The Enchanted Bookshop! Consider joining us for one of the shows: Friday at 7pm, Saturday at 3pm, or Saturday at 7pm. Tickets are available online until noon tomorrow or can be purchased at the door.
i-Ready Testing
Next week, students will complete their third and final round of i-ready testing. Students cannot study for these tests, but they can “prepare” by arriving on time to school, eating breakfast, and getting a good night’s sleep. All students should have headphones with them for the tests, and 5th-8th grade students should make sure their Chromebook is charged.
As soon as all students have completed testing and teachers have had a chance to review the results, we will share those results with you. This round, scores will be shared electronically; more information should be available in early May on how to access your child’s results.
FFO Reminder
Don't forget, your FFO (Family Fundraising Obligation) balance is due via FACTS on Thursday, May 1st. All credits for Charleston Wrap, DDA, referrals, and SCRIP/Raise Right have been applied. FFO is an incidental expense in FACTS, so please log into your account before May 1st to ensure your incidentals are set on auto-pay or to make a manual payment.
As shared previously, this is the last year that FFO will be charged in this way. Next year FFO will be rolled into tuition, so your monthly payments will be higher but you will not have an incidental charge like this in May. You will still be eligible for tuition credits, too!
Dodgeball Fun
Yesterday was our annual Students vs. Staff Dodgeball game! We had a lot of fun playing dodgeball against the 2nd grade boys.
Warm Weather Reminder
As the weather gets warmer, please make sure your child is bringing a water bottle to school to use throughout the day, and that they are bringing a drink with them to lunch each day. Many students are coming in from recess, thirsty after playing outside, and going to lunch without any drinks. It is challenging to send multiple students to get drinks at one time, and lunch is only 20 minutes long, so it is helpful if each child has water or another drink with their lunch daily.
May Virtue
Our final virtue for the school year is responsibility. Click here for ideas on how you can learn about responsibility together as a family at home!
