Saints Speak from Mrs. Marshall - 9/1/2022 - Seeking Jesus

It was great to see so many of you the past two evenings for Curriculum Night! Hopefully you enjoyed visiting the classroom, getting to know your child’s teacher a little better, and connecting with other parents.

Today’s message from Pope Francis is about the journey of life:

“Life is a journey, along different roads, different paths, which leave their mark on us. We know in faith that Jesus seeks us out. He wants to heal our wounds, to soothe our feet which hurt from traveling alone, to wash each of us clean of the dust from our journey.”

We’ve all had the feeling, at some point in our lives, that we are traveling alone. While it can be tough to recognize in the moment, when we take time to think about it, we know that we are never truly on our own. We always have Jesus by our side. Sometimes we feel His presence in prayer, and other times we see Him in others. Through challenges and celebrations, whether we are aware of His presence or not, He is always there!

As I mentioned at Curriculum Night, we’re always looking for volunteers to help keep our school running smoothly! Friday, September 23rd is our annual All Saints Fun Run, and we need volunteers to make the day a success! Click here to sign up and share your time.

Mark your calendars for our upcoming Cultural Celebration on Tuesday, October 11, from 6-8pmClick here for more information!

News from our parishes:

  • St. Thomas the Apostle is seeking our 4th-8th grade students interested in becoming Altar Servers! Click here for more information.
  • St. Elizabeth Seton is about to begin Year 11 of That Man is You! The program begins Saturday, September 10, and tackles real issues facing real men. It looks at the leadership role that has been entrusted to men and addresses the temptations and struggles men face in today’s culture. Finally, it helps formulate a plan to help men overcome these obstacles. We start with coffee and fellowship at 6:30am, followed by a video and small group discussions with a hard stop at 8am. Please contact Wayne Klein at 630.202.4400 or wklein@kleinconstruction.net with any questions.
  • St. Margaret Mary invites all ASCA families to Mass followed by fellowship and refreshments on September 25 and October 2. Click here for more information!
  • Holy Spirit is looking for volunteers for their parish picnic on September 18th! Contact Mary Sinapoglou, the chair of our Parish Picnic Committee, at whiteheadmm@hotmail.com for more information.

Tomorrow (Friday, 9/2) is the last day to order free home COVID tests through the USPS. If you haven’t already taken advantage of this offer, click here to place your order. Each household is able to order 24 tests at no cost.
