Saints Speak from Mrs. Marshall - 8/14/2025 - Back to the Beginning

This is the first Saints Speak of the new year. You can except an email like this each Thursday throughout the 2025-2026 school year. Please be sure to read it each week so you are up to date on school policies, procedures, and events to ensure your child has the best possible school experience.

Meet & Greet

We look forward to seeing you all for Meet & Greet tomorrow afternoon from 3-5pm! We will gather on the recess pad and begin with a short prayer service. Then students will have the opportunity to visit classrooms, enjoy a treat from the Kona Ice truck, purchase spirit wear, and play with old and new friends. 1^st-8^th grade students may bring school supplies to drop off in homerooms; preschool and kindergarten families should keep supplies until next week. All families are encouraged to bring a box or two of health cereal to contribute to our collection for Loaves & Fishes.

Next Week

School begins next week on Tuesday, August 19^th! If you haven’t already done so, please be sure to review the arrival and dismissal procedures in the Parent-Student Handbook (p. 17-20). We know these procedures will take a little longer the first few weeks of school as everyone adjusts, so thank you in advance for your patience as new families learn the routines and returning families readjust to the routines.

• Tuesday, August 19^th: First Day of School for 1^st-8^th grade! All students should be in uniform today. Students will dismiss at 11:30am; there is no lunch, bus service or after care today. Before care is available beginning at 7am.

• Wednesday August 20^th: Kindergarten Orientation & Preschool Mom, Dad, and Me. Please see grade-specific emails with times for these events. Bus service and after care will begin today. Please be sure to pack your child lunch for today; hot lunch begins next week.

• Thursday, August 21^st: First Day of Kindergarten & Preschool

• Friday, August 22^nd: Join us for our first school Mass of the year at 8:15am

Uniform Reminders

If you have any questions on uniform expectations, please review pages 27-31 of the Handbook. All nail polish should be removed before the first day of school, hair should be its natural color, and boys’ hair should be cut to above the collar and out of eyes. Thank you for revisiting these expectations with your child before Tuesday!

Lunch Volunteers

We are looking for lunch and recess volunteers to assist our teachers and staff. If you are able to commit to help one or more days per week, 10:45am-12:15pm, please click here to sign up. If you can’t volunteer consistently but would be able to help out as a sub, we have places to sign up for that too. This is a great opportunity to see your child during the day and be involved in our school community. As a reminder, all volunteers must complete the requirements in Virtus. Thank you for considering!

Back to School Forms

We are still missing FACTS forms from a handful of families. Please complete these today! I will be sending individual emails to families with missing or incomplete forms as well. 

Athletics

To make athletics communication easier, we have created a joint email address for our two athletic directors, Mrs. Boensch and Mr. Murawski. If you have a question, comment, or concern related to athletics, please email athleticdirector@ascacademy.org. They will both be checking this inbox and ensure you receive a response in a timely fashion.

Parish News

St. Thomas the Apostle is hosting a prayer and study group on the Gospel of Mark beginning in September. There are in-person and virtual sessions; click here for more information.
