Saints Speak from Mrs. Marshall - 2/12/2026 - Models for Lives of Love and Kindness
Our school is full of love today as we celebrate St. Valentine’s Day! The students are excited for their class parties and the junior high field trip. We don’t have an official saint of focus this week, but we have talked about how we can continue to use the saints as our models for living lives of love and kindness.
While we may not always like everyone we meet, as Christians we are called to love each person and see Christ in others. When conflicts arise with others, part of our call to love involves seeking peaceful resolution to the conflict. Here is a resource that might be helpful as you talk with your child about resolving conflicts with others and striving to love as Christ loves.
Lent
We will enter the Lenten season next week. Ash Wednesday Mass will be celebrated at 8:15am at All Saints, in place of our weekly Friday Mass. Please RSVP if you plan to join us to streamline the arrival process.
Lent is a time of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving to bring ourselves closer to Jesus and share in His journey to the cross. Here is a simple list of 40 things children of all ages can do this Lenten season, focusing on prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. Consider using it as a family as you make your Lenten promises.

Cultural Day
Next Thursday, February 19th, we will celebrate Cultural Day! In the classrooms, students will learn about different cultural traditions, clothing, and languages, and then the day will culminate with an afternoon school assembly (2:30pm) led by Senora Myers and our diversity committee. Students are welcome to wear clothing representing their culture or heritage that day, or colors of the flag of their heritage, in place of their uniform.
Academic Awards
Last Thursday, our local spelling bee champion Zachary Ling (7th grade) competed at the DuPage County Private Schools Spelling Bee – and won! We are so proud of Zachary for earning 1st place at this next level of competition and wish him luck as he advances to the next regional contest!
Last weekend, our math team competed at the Regional MATHCOUNTS contest. The team earned 3rd place and qualified for the state competition in early March! Congratulations to James Budd, Jeffrey Jiao, Cindy Montgomery, Sebastian Mourad, and alternate Zac Wojtowicz, and best of luck at State! Congratulations especially to James, who earned 1st place individually, and Sebastian, who scored in the top 25%. Both earned a place on the MATHCOUNTS honor roll. Way to go, Saints!
