Saints Speak from Mrs. Marshall - 1/30/2025 - Thank You For Choosing Catholic Education

Our saint this week is St. Elizabeth Ann Seton! In addition to being the namesake of one of our supporting parishes, she is also the patron saint of Catholic education! St. Elizabeth Seton was the first American to be canonized, and she was instrumental in bringing Catholic education to the United States. She founded a religious community for women, the first of its kind in the U.S., as well as a Catholic school.

On the way to school this morning, my four-year-olds asked what it means that our school is Catholic. I gave the simple answer: it means we get to learn about Jesus at school. Having spent my entire life in Catholic schools, this is something I take for granted at times. As I tried to explain to my kids that this isn’t the case everywhere, it reminded me of how special a Catholic education truly is. Our faith is the foundation for our academics, our community, and how we treat one another. As parents, I know you make many sacrifices to send your children to All Saints. Thank you for making this choice for your children and giving them a strong foundation in faith. Thank you for being such an important part of our school community. We appreciate you, during Catholic Schools Week and always!

Here’s a special prayer for Catholic Schools Week:

God of kinship,
We ask that You help us to see the sacredness of our connections to one another.
May we be thankful for the family, friends, and community in our parishes and school.
Help us to see Christ in each other, and guide us to nourish the friendships-in-faith among us.
We make this prayer in Your Holy Name.
Amen.

Classroom Spotlight: CSW & 5th Grade Saints Museum

We have had such a great week celebrating our Catholic school! Each day has been full of events, special treats from ASPA, and fun themes. Thank you to Michelle Ling and ASPA for helping us plan such a fun week!

One of the highlights was our Saints Museum on Monday. The 5th graders did an amazing job sharing about their saints with the younger students and their parents. They were knowledgeable and well-spoken.

Two of our 2nd grade students were recently selected to have their artwork featured on Channel 7’s Weather Sketchers segment! Tune in on Monday, February 3rd, at 6:30am to see Lillian C.'s artwork, and then again on Friday, February 7th, at 6:30am to see Zoe P.'s artwork. Congratulations to Zoe and Lillian!  Please note that this was edited based on Mrs. Marshalls's email correction on 1/30/2025.
