Saints Speak from Mrs. Marshall - 12/7/2023 - Crafting Peace in the World

Take a few minutes to reflect on these words from Pope Francis:

Peace is crafted by hand! There are no industries for peace, no. It is fashioned each day, by hand, and also with an open heart so that the gift of God may come.”

We all say that we want peace in our world, and I do believe we all mean those words. Pope Francis is challenging us here to look at our own choices and how they might foster a peaceful environment. Are we encouraging peace in our personal relationships, in our families, and in our local community? Pope Francis reminds us here that each small action we take helps craft peace in the world.

Upcoming Events

We have just 10 school days left until Christmas break! These are busy days, so please make sure you have the following on your calendars. Two new dates are in bold for you!

  • Tuesday, 12/12/23: Mass 8:15am for the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe; this will replace our regular Friday Mass that week.
  • Friday, 12/15/23: Ugly Christmas Sweater Contest! Students may come to school in their “ugliest” Christmas sweater and the bottoms of their choice. We’ll vote on a winner for the ugliest sweater in each grade.
  • Wednesday, 12/20/23: Preschool Christmas Concert 8:30am in the gym
  • Wednesday, 12/20/23: Kindergarten-5th grade Christmas Concert 6:00pm in the gym - doors will open at 5:30pm, and all student should arrive no later than 5:45.
  • Thursday, 12/20/23: Since we don’t have a school Mass this week, we’ll begin the day with an Advent Prayer Service at 8:15am in the gym. Please join us! Class Christmas parties are then at 10am, followed by 11:30am dismissal for all students as we begin Christmas break. There will be no after care, no bus home, and no lunch on this day.

Academic Reminders

The second trimester is well underway! Please make sure you are monitoring your child’s grades and reminding him/her to turn in work, study for tests, and put his/her best effort into all assignments. We will be checking eligibility for our student athletes the first week back from Christmas break, so it’s important to stay on top of all assignments now to avoid any issues in January!

Science Fair Judges Needed!

Mrs. Hoeft is still looking for judges to assist with our Science Fair on Thursday, January 25th. You do not need to work in a science-related field to help out, and this is a great way to give back while learning a little more about our school’s science fair before your child gets to 7th grade. Click here to sign up!
