Saints Speak - 3/12/2020 - Thank You
From Mrs. Santos
This past weekend, we celebrated our 15th Annual Dinner Dance Auction – The Crystal Gala on Friday evening, returning once again to the beautiful Chicago Marriott Naperville. It was a truly fun filled night of friendship; and I thank everyone who was able to attend. Whether it was your very first auction, or you were one of our alumni parents coming home, or even one of our ASCA graduates in attendance, I sincerely hope that you enjoyed the event. A few of our parents who had never attended our dinner dance auction before shared with me that they wish that they had not missed prior DDA’s.
This being my last DDA as your principal, I want you to know how grateful I am for your celebration of my tenure as principal of All Saints Catholic Academy at this year’s Crystal Gala. The champagne toast, kind words, and gift shared by our School Board President, Christi Kluzak, the recognition in the auction catalog and Saintly Spots, all of you who stopped to say hello – thank you so much.
It was all the more special to have my husband and my adult children at the Gala to share these very special moments together. My feet still are aching from dancing the night away; and when the food truck showed up for late night snacks – WOW, what fun! I would also like to extend congratulations to the winner of this year’s Tuition Credit Raffle – Divine Hedriana. The Hedriana’s are a longtime school family. Their daughter Isabel graduated in 2016; and son Vincent will be graduating next year. Thank you to everyone who purchased a ticket for this year’s raffle; and a special thank you to this year’s raffle sponsors, Paul and Karen Weinewuth (proud parents of ASCA graduates Elizabeth ’09, Hannah ’11, Rebekah ’13, and Mark ’16)
Months of hard work went into planning and executing this evening. I would like to recognize and thank our 5th grade parents, who were our hosts for the evening, and in particular, the auction co-chairs, Dino Abbott, Bill Gilmore, Gina Gilmore, Heather Glynn, Kristen Johanneson, Mike McMahon, and Kristy Wagester. Many additional parents and volunteers spent countless hours to make this evening such a great success. The online and live bidding was robust and spirited. I hope that everyone was able to be the winning bidder on their item(s) of interest. We are truly grateful for everyone’s generosity in support of the auction which is All Saints’ largest fundraiser that directly supports our students at All Saints.
We still have a few items available for purchase (click here), but hurry, they’re going fast (Look for the Buy Now):
- Classroom Parties
- Junior High Open Gym
- Out of Uniform Passes
- Break A Rule Day Passes
- Camps and more!
This year’s call to cash for our Fund a Need was in support of Security and Safety Initiatives at ASCA which include the following:
- Purchase and install new security cameras with improved monitoring capabilities
- Purchase and install 3M Shatter Proof Security Film on our windows
- Purchase and install a Panic Button System
- Install improved lighting in our parking lots
- Purchase safety bags for all classrooms.
These additions to our security at All Saints are ones that, prayerfully, we hope we never have to use or employ. We know that we cannot rest, and we can never be complacent, unless we are doing all that we are able to be confident that our children and future students at All Saints are safe and secure, and that we know, trust and have peace of mind that our school is a safe place to be.
If you would like to make a contribution to this year’s Fund a Need, it is not too late - simply click here to make your donation online; or send in a check (checks made out to ASCA), and note Fund a Need 2020 in the memo line. No contribution is too small. Thank you to everyone for your support of this year's Fund a Need.
I would also like to recognize our generous Cornerstone and Patron Sponsors of this year’s DDA 2020 – The Crystal Gala. You can find links to their respective businesses at the end of Saints Speak today, and each week throughout the remainder of 2020 and 2021 until next years’ DDA. I respectfully ask that you consider supporting them with your business, as they have supported our children’s school, All Saints Catholic Academy. Please let them know that you are an All Saints family, and thank them.
