Saints Speak – 11/25/2020 – Happy Thanksgiving and Thank You

As we begin our holiday weekend and prepare for Thanksgiving tomorrow, I want to take this opportunity to say thank you. I have been part of the All Saints community for nearly five months now, and I feel truly blessed to be part of such a welcoming, supportive school. Each day we’ve been able to spend together in person is cause for celebration, and I look forward to many more!

To our faculty and staff, thank you! You pour your heart and soul into your work day in and day out, doing everything in your power to make sure each child in your class feels loved and cared for. I enjoy visiting your classrooms and seeing you interact with the students, finding creative ways to teach new material despite the limitations of this year.

To our parents, thank you! You have shown tremendous trust and support of our school, especially during these challenging and uncertain times. It’s obvious in each phone call, email, and brief interaction in the care line how much you care for your children. Thank you for supporting our teachers and finding ways to help us create “normalcy” in these unusual times. I look forward to getting to know each one of you better in the coming months and years.

To our parishioners, sponsors, and supporters, thank you! There is not a more fitting time than Thanksgiving 2020 for us to recognize the importance of coming together as the ASCA community in support of our students. These young ones are our future, and your continued support and dedication to our school helps us serve them each day. We greatly appreciate the contributions, prayers, and well wishes you continue to provide!

Lastly, to our students, thank you! As I said in our morning announcements yesterday, I am so grateful to be able to work with you each day! Your joy, enthusiasm for learning, and kindness motivate me each morning. While so much of this year has looked “different” for us, you have been continually positive and uplifting, always focusing on what is possible rather than what isn’t. You are truly an inspiration to all of us!

No matter what your plans are this Thanksgiving, I wish you all a very happy holiday. Below is Thanksgiving prayer reminding us all how much we have to thank God for, today and always. You are each in my prayers!

Dear God,

Thank you for all Your blessings and gifts to us. We thank You for the precious gift of family and friends, for those who are here with us today and those who are far away.

Thank you for your abundance and grace, and for being with us every single day.

We thank You for showing us glimpses of heavenly beauty through the eyes of our loved ones, through nature, and through songs of praise.

We are grateful for the roof over our heads and a warm place to sleep each night. Thank You for blessing us with food on our table each day.

We thank You for all those You have brought into our lives to lead us, to guide us, and to protect us. Bless each of them today, Lord.
