Saints Speak from Mrs. Marshall - 10/15/2026 - We Appreciate Your Partnership and Support

It was great to see so many of you for Parent-Teacher Conferences last week. We appreciate your partnership and support of your child’s education!

Reminder: All School Photo Tomorrow!

Tomorrow we’ll be taking our all-school photo after Mass. All students should wear their “One Body in Christ” t-shirt with uniform bottoms. If your preschool child does not normally attend on Fridays but would like to join for the photo, please bring him/her to Door 1 at 9:15am tomorrow.

Parish Family Masses

Our students did a fantastic job leading Mass at St. Elizabeth Seton earlier this month, and we are excited to be at our other parishes the next two weekends. The remaining October Family Mass dates/times are below; we hope to see you there representing All Saints!

  • Sunday, October 18: 10am at Our Lady of Mercy (I will be there as well!)
  • Sunday, October 18: 11:15am at St. Thomas the Apostle (Sr. Maria will be there!)
  • Sunday, October 25: 11am at Holy Spirit (I will be there!)
  • Sunday, October 25: 11:15am at St. Margaret Mary (Sr. Maria will be there!)

Grandparents Day

Invitations for Grandparents Day (Tuesday, November 24th) are going home today so students can hand-deliver or mail to grandparents. If you’d prefer, you can send grandparents this electronic invitation instead or click here to RSVP for them! We hope to have many grandparents join us for this special morning. If you or your child’s grandparents have any questions about the day, please email gpday@ascacademy.org.

Bernie’s Book Bank & Book Fair

If you haven’t already done so, take a few minutes tonight to clean out your children’s bookshelves and donate any gently used children’s books to Bernie’s Book Bank! There are bins at each of the doors when you enter school. This is a great way to make room for new purchases at next week’s Book Fair. The Book Fair will be held Tuesday-Friday next week; students will preview on Tuesday and then have the opportunity to shop Wednesday and Thursday, with last call on Friday morning. As the weather cools and we have more time indoors, it’s a great time to stock up on new books!

Thank You for Supporting Trivia!

On October 2nd, we hosting Trivia Night at ASCA! The event raised $3,315, all of which supports safety and security measures at All Saints. Thank you to Amanda Solomon and her team for planning, and to all who participated!

The event was a lot of fun, and we know it can be even better next year! For planning purposes, we are looking for feedback on the best time of year for Trivia Night in the 27-28 school year. Click here to quickly share your feedback. Thank you!

CogAT Results

Your child’s CogAT results will be going home this week. CogAT measures a student’s general reasoning and problem-solving abilities and is tested each fall at ASCA in grades 3-8. This year we tested 2nd grade as well as a practice to prepare them for the format next year. If you have any questions about your child’s CogAT results, please contact your child’s homeroom teacher.

Halloween

The Halloween celebrations begin at ASCA with Trunk or Treat on Saturday, October 24th, 11am-12:30pm. We hope to see you there! At school, we will celebrate Halloween on Friday, October 30th this year. We will not have a school Mass on this day. Instead, we will celebrate All Saints Day with a special Mass on Thursday, October 29th.

On Oct. 30th, parents are welcome to join us for a Costume Parade at 2pm on the Recess Pad, weather permitting. Please see more details for each Academy below.

  • Preschool: Students may come to school in their costumes. Parents are welcome to join us for a costume parade at 8:30 in the gym. Class parties will be 8:45-9:45am.
  • Primary Academy (K-2): Students may come to school in their costumes. Students will participate in the Costume Parade at 2pm, and class parties will be at 2:15pm.
  • Intermediate Academy (3-5): Students may come to school in their costumes. Students will participate in the Costume Parade at 2pm, and class parties will be at 2:15pm.
  • Junior High Academy (6-8): Student Council is planning a Halloween Social for the afternoon! Junior high students may wear costumes, or they may be out of uniform if they wear Halloween colors (black, orange, and purple).

As you prepare, please remember that all costumes must be appropriate for school. No masks that cover the eyes, makeup, weapons, or violent costumes are allowed. Please make sure your child is able to sit comfortably in a desk and use the bathroom independently in his/her costume.

Thank you for supporting Waterleaf!

Last Monday, we collected donations for Waterleaf Women’s Center to kick off Respect Life Month. We were able to donate $2,678 to Waterleaf on behalf of our families. Thank you for your generosity!

Athletics

Fall athletics are beginning to wrap up, and we are so proud of our student athletes! Congratulations to our JV and Varsity Flag Football teams, who concluded their seasons last weekend. Congratulations as well so the students who represented ASCA at the IESA Sectional Cross Country Meet last weekend. Patrick Maxwell and Jax Rusin placed 14th and 15th respectively and qualified for State! Congratulations and best of luck. Good luck as well to our volleyball teams who are competing in the first round of playoff games this weekend. Go Saints!

Faith's Law

All Saints follow's Faith's Law, an Illinois law enacted in 2023 to support schools in ensuring the safety of all children while at school. School Accreditation and Recognition

All Saints Catholic Academy is accredited through the Western Catholic Educational Association (WCEA).

WCEA is a nationally recognized accrediting body that evaluates Catholic schools based on academic quality, Catholic identity, leadership, and long-term sustainability. The achievement affirms the Diocese of Joliet’s and All Saints Catholic Academy's continued commitment to excellence in both education and faith formation and formalizes a process for continuous school improvement.

All Saints Catholic Academy has received 'Recognition' status from the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) as a non-public school, and been state recognized since its inception in 2005.  A "recognized school" means that an ISBE appointed team has visited the school to confirm it is following all required laws. The ISBE team looks at school policies, student and staff files, safety records, and other things; a team revisits the school every five years.  Find out more about non-public school recognition at the ISBE site - https://www.isbe.net/nonpublicprograms.
