All Saints Catholic Academy Annual Fund Appeal
As the 2020 calendar year comes to a close and we reflect back on the last twelve months, we all will agree, without hesitation, that 2020 has been a year unlike any other. As an ASCA community, and as a nation, we have experienced a great deal of change, challenge, and hardship. However, we also have been the recipients of many blessings for which we are eternally grateful.

At All Saints, we have been providing our students with in-person instruction, five days per week, since mid-August. We have been so blessed to have our students back in classrooms, where we can grow and learn together as a faith community. Our students will tell you how happy they are to be in class, learning and praying alongside their friends and receiving in-person instruction from their teachers. Personally, I have enjoyed getting to know the students, seeing their joy to be in school, and watching them support and welcome new members of our school community.
Preparing for our students’ return and maintaining a safe learning environment for them has been no easy task. As the newest leader of All Saints Catholic Academy I have been continually impressed by our faculty and staff and their willingness to come together, going above and beyond to ensure each one of our students receives a high-quality, faith-based education. To achieve these goals, we have:
- Repurposed common areas of the school building and redesigned classroom spaces to allow for proper social distancing throughout the day
- Adjusted daily procedures to allow for additional cleaning and sanitizing, temperature checks, and enhanced arrival and dismissal procedures, which required extra duties for teachers and support staff
- Increased cleaning personnel
- Upgraded our tech capacity and virtual instruction capabilities to reach students who are home for various reasons, and prepared ourselves to pivot to virtual learning if needed at any time
Our motto this year has been “Together We Can,” and our success can be attributed to each person’s dedication to living out this motto.
We are proud of all we have accomplished over the last few months, and we are continually looking forward with hope to an even brighter future. As 2020 draws to an end, I ask you to consider supporting All Saints Catholic Academy and our continued efforts to provide a safe, excellent, faith-based instruction to our students. We cannot undertake this endeavor alone, but I firmly believe that Together We Can continue to move our school forward, creating an even stronger All Saints community. No gift is too small, as each helps us fulfill our mission. To make an contribution to our Annual Fund Appeal, please click here. It will only take a few minutes of your time; and your contribution will help so much!
May God bless you and your family this holiday season!
In Gratitude,
Mrs. Margie Marshall
Principal

► $100 will help us buy books to upgrade and improve one classroom library.
► $150 will help us buy art supplies for one classroom.
► $200 will help us buy health office supplies and personal protective equipment to aid our school nurse.
► $300 will help us buy one student IPad or Chromebook.

► $1,000 will help us provide a professional development session for faculty and staff.
► $2,000 will help to provide an annual school license for interactive learning resources (such as Discovery Education or IXL).
► $2,500 will help us buy a UV Ozone Generator to assist with air purification in common areas.

► $5,000 will help us purchase audio visual equipment (camera, wireless microphones, lights) to allow for high-quality recording and streaming of weekly mass and other school productions.
Additionally, the Annual Fund Appeal helps us to make and keep Catholic education affordable to all families in our community. The tuition that you pay each month is only one piece of what it takes to ensure that our students are receiving the excellent education in a safe environment that they need. Our surrounding public school districts are spending considerably more dollars per pupil than our tuition cost, with NCUSD203 spending 167% more per pupil, and IPSD204 spending 117% more per pupil. Your contribution to the appeal ensures the continued excellence of All Saints and helps us to fund various school needs, including academic enhancements, faculty development, classroom technology, supplies and equipment, and operating expenses. Every dollar raised is used to enrich the lives of our students in their pursuit of academic and spiritual development, so that they may be the future Catholic leaders that our world so greatly needs.
We know, and have shown in the challenging months of 2020, that together we can accomplish great things. We hope that you will join us in supporting this year's appeal. Each contribution to the Annual Fund Appeal, no matter how great or small, is affirmation of your belief in our mission. For that, we thank you!
Saints Strong Virtual Celebration – March 20, 2021

What exactly is the SSVC? We’re so glad you asked! We all know that this has been a unique year and we have all had to adapt and change many aspects of lives. ASCA has proudly held Dinner Dance Auctions (DDAs) in years past. This was a way for the community to come together, mingle with friends old and new, have fun, and support our Saints. This year, as we work to keep our ASCA community safe, we will continue the tradition with our Saints Strong Virtual Celebration (SSVC). Funds raised this year will support a new S.T.E.M. Lab for our Saints.
SSVC is the biggest fundraiser of the year. We need your support more than ever – so don’t miss out on your chance to support SSVC. Keep reading to see how you can support and help.

Fall Book Fair
A huge thank you to all of the school families who supported our recent Fall Book Fair. As you know, we far surpassed our goal of $9,100, with over $10,000 in sales - our most successful fair EVER. We would like to recognize and sincerely thank the following:
- Kathy Kokkinos and Christine Shaw who coordinated the fair.
- To all of the many volunteers who helped with set up and take down, who manned the registers, and who assisted students and school families throughout the sale.
- To our school families who supported the fair (and our school library) with your purchases and generosity.
As noted in the weekly reminders, all students have earned and will enjoy an out of uniform day on Tuesday, October 15 (the day after the Columbus Day holiday). Bravo, ASCA!!!
All Saints Collects Box Tops for Education and Pop Tabs for Ronald McDonald House
As the Box Tops for Education program has now gone ‘electronic’, see the attached flyer for more information on downloading the App, and earning cash for ASCA. You may still send in paper box tops that have not expired; we will be collecting them in the classrooms.

St Therese Plaza Paver Brick Program
Recognize your student or school family by purchasing a brick as part of our St Therese Plaza Paver Brick Program.
We want to let our new ASCA families know – and remind returning ASCA families - of the opportunity to have a personalized paver brick honor your family, student or event and create a lasting family legacy here at All Saints. Many inscribed bricks are already installed in our beautiful St. Therese, The Little Flower, Plaza outside Door 1, and we welcome new additions!
You can make a donation to sponsor a Paver Brick to commemorate any occasion in the course of the school year, or to honor a special student, teacher or coach! This is also a great way to memorialize a loved one, or to celebrate a birthday or anniversary with a gift that will last a lifetime.
The donation options to sponsor a Paver Brick are $175 (6” by 6”), $250 (6” by 12”) or $500 (12” by 12”), and donors receive written thanks for their charitable donations. Also, please note that there are many religious and other icons available to enrich the message and appearance of paver bricks.

Illinois Tax Credit Scholarship Program
Last year, the State of Illinois created a new way to fund scholarships for children who choose to attend Catholic schools through the “Invest in Kids Act.” Under the IllinoisTax Credit Scholarship Program and the “Invest in Kids Act”, individuals and corporations make donations to Scholarship Granting Organizations (SGO) that distribute scholarships to qualified students.
You can designate your contribution to support a student attending All Saints Catholic Academy, and receive a 75% credit on your state of Illinois tax liability. Remember that a tax credit is a dollar for dollar reduction of your tax liability. For example, if you donate $1,000 under the Tax Credit Scholarship Program, you will receive a tax credit equal to 75% of your donation, or $750.
Yes, this is For Real.
- The tax credit is a dollar for dollar reduction of the amount a tax that an individual or corporation owes to the State of Illinois.
- Donors will be able to designate their donation to an individual school - All Saints Catholic Academy.
Why pay money to the State of Illinois, when those monies can help a child at All Saints Catholic Academy.
If you would like more information on how to donate to the Illinois Tax Credit Scholarship Program, please click here.
Please click here for more information on 2018-2019 fundraising at All Saints Catholic Academy. Remember that all families are responsible for their FFO ($250 for preschool only families; $500 for K-8 families). We encourage you to take advantage of each fundraiser that is offered.
