Advent Faith and Giving Opportunities

As we journey throughout this season of Advent, we reflect on the blessings in our lives, and seek opportunities to deepen our faith and offer service to others. We are called to “Be the Light”: to practice our faith in new ways during these unusual times; to share our faith with our children, family and those around us, and “Be the Light” to all.

As the community of All Saints Catholic Academy, we have been blessed with multiple parishes to deepen our faith, celebrate our traditions and give back to others. Below you will find the links to each of our affiliated parishes Christmas mass schedules, and opportunities to provide Christmas gifts for needy people in our community. We hope that this information will be helpful.

Saints in Service: Ways You Can Give Back This Holiday Season

The year 2020 has brought so many changes to us all, including how we as a school community can give back to those in need. During past school years, we have come together for our:

~ Back-to-School cereal drive for Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry

~ Book Drive for Bernie’s Book Bank during the Fall Book Fair

~ Candy Drive for Operation Support Our Troops

~ Fall Coat Drive for Button & Zipper

~ Shoe and Boot Drive for Cradle to Crayons

..............not to mention the variety of charities we support throughout the school year that include: West Suburban Community Pantry, St. Patrick’s residence, Feed My Starving Children, Caring Cards ministry, Blessings in a Backpack, Ronald McDonald House and more!

Although we are not able to facilitate all of our traditional charitable drives at the school this year, we know that you are missing these important acts of student-led philanthropy. We want to share with you some ways in which your family can give back to the community, this holiday season.  Please see the following information on Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry and West Suburban Community Pantry.

We wish you all a very blessed holiday season filled with love, peace and kindness. We are so grateful for you!

Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry

Loaves & Fishes Community Services | Naperville & DuPage County Food Pantry

Loaves & Fishes Community Services is a registered 501(c)(3) organization that has served our community since 1984. Their vision is to end hunger and transform lives, with their core mission of providing healthy food and impactful programs to promote self-sufficiency. As a volunteer at the food pantry, you see the variety of healthy options they provide clients. The food pantry is bright, clean and designed as a grocery store, with music playing, and volunteers helping to bag items and load groceries into cars. They believe that:

by working together we can accomplish great things each person possesses inherent dignity the opportunity to serve is a gift and that food is a right and not a privilege.

Over the last several months, Loaves & Fishes has adapted to serve the dramatic increase of struggling families in our community and the many challenges brought by the pandemic. In order to provide a safe environment for clients, volunteers and staff, Loaves & Fishes adapted its grocery distribution model to curbside delivery and reduced the number of people in the building by over 80%. They also created the Virtual Food Drive, where donors can purchase food directly through their website, as they were unable to accept physical food donations, due to safety concerns.

Ways we can help: Donating food or funds online is a wonderful way to help this impactful organization! Click on this link to learn more about Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry and to make a donation: https://www.loaves-fishes.org/ways-to-give/

West Suburban Community Pantry

Wscpantry.org

“The West Suburban Community Pantry traces its roots to a small pantry dating back to the 1970s. In 1992, the Pantry was incorporated and obtained its 501(c)(3) status in response to the growing need to feed the hungry in DuPage County.

The Pantry operates year-round with a goal that each eligible family in DuPage County, Bolingbrook, and Romeoville receives nutritionally balanced food, including meats, dairy, and fresh produce monthly. We are also registered as an emergency food pantry for Illinois.

With the help of volunteers and sponsors, our vision is to eradicate hunger within the families and individuals in the DuPage County area. We are dedicated to providing food for the hungry, educating the donor community about existing needs, and supporting advocacy efforts for the hungry. We also work hard to encourage volunteerism and the sharing of resources.”

Last year, WSCP distributed 2 million pounds of food in our community! And, over the past seven months, the demand for the Pantry has doubled. One of the best ways you can help them is by giving a monetary donation. Due to their food partnerships, they can secure more food per dollar, making a monetary donation even more valuable. For every $5.00 donation, they can secure the equivalent of 20 meals for those they serve.

Ways you can give! Please see WSCP’s website for a list of their most-needed items, drop off location and times or to make an online donation: Food & In-Kind Donations | West Suburban Community Pantry. Thank you in advance for your support of this wonderful organization!

All Saints Catholic Academy is OPEN FOR BUSINESS.   We thank you so much for your interest in All Saints.    All Saints Catholic Academy is beyond thrilled to have safely welcomed back our preschool - grade 8 students to school for the 2020-2021 school year!  All Saints' back to school plan was approved by Bishop Pates, and the Superintendent of Schools for the Diocese of Joliet, Dr. Boyle; and we received our reopening certification in July 2020.   Unfortunately, All Saints does not have any openings currently at any grade level.

  • Click here to view Diocesan Quick Facts
  • Click here to view the Covid Return to School Guidance Flyer

Our primary goal in re-opening was to be able to welcome back our students safely.  With the number of students enrolled to date, and the physical space that we have available, we have had to cut off new enrollment at this time.  In an effort to keep our students safe within the building and their cohorts, we also are not currently offering personal tours.  We encourge you to take our virtual tour - click here - (keep in mind that this drone tour was done prior to installing all of the safety protocols for our re-opening this fall).

We truly wish your family and student(s) all the best this current 2020-2021 school year.

At All Saints, our students are well known for their prowess in the area of mathmatics.  To read more about the success of our 'mathletes', and 8th grade student, Michael Budd, please click here.
