Saints Speak from Mrs. Marshall - 3/4/2021 - So Much to Look Forward to!

It has been so wonderful to be back in the building this week! I am enjoying visiting our classrooms and seeing the great progress your children have made these last few months. This is busy time of year at All Saints as we near the end of the third quarter, begin to enjoy the warmer weather, and continue on our Lenten journey in preparation for Easter. There is much to look forward to in these last few months of the school year!

One of the most exciting things coming up here at ASCA is the Saints Strong Virtual Celebration on March 20 th ! The SSVC (formerly known as the DDA) is the biggest fundraiser and ‘fun’ raiser of the year. This year’s event is a virtual trivia night – you can join the event from the comfort of your own home or with a small group of family or friends!

The evening will feature live trivia, auction items, raffle drawings, and a Call for Cash with proceeds going toward a new STEM Lab for our students. Everyone is invited and encouraged to join in the fun – even your children! We hope all school families will participate - click here to purchase your tickets!

If you can’t join the trivia that night, you can still support the SSVC!   Register now and you can bid on auction items. Live Auction Items will be available to preview beginning Friday, March 12. One item will be auctioned off each day beginning Monday, March 15 , with bidding taking place throughout the day and the item going to the highest and final bidder at 8pm that evening.

The Silent Auction Items will be available to preview on Friday, March 19. Silent Auction bidding will take place during the event on March 20, but you can bid regardless of whether oyou participate in the trivia night. Encourage neighbors and relatives to register and bid on items, too!

The SSVC will also be a No Cookin’ in the Kitchen night with special menu options available from My Chef Catering and Aurelio’s . Look for an email from Mrs. Bajek coming tomorrow with all the details on how to order your meals for that night and ensure that a portion of the sale goes to All Saints.

The SSVC is sure to be fun for all!

As we continue our Lenten journey together, we will be praying the Stations of the Cross  introducing on Station each day during our morning prayer. If you would like to pray the Stations at home as a family, this student-friendly format may be helpful to you.

Throughout the week the teachers and I have noticed several students not in proper uniform. Please help ensure that your child is in the correct school uniform each day . This includes no nail polish or non-uniform sweatshirts. The complete dress code may be found in the Parent Handbook or by clicking here . The homeroom teachers will be reminding students of these policies, and Respectful Reminders will be given for uniform violations moving forward.

Please also note that Apple watches may not be worn . These watches have the same capabilities as phones, which are not allowed during the school day. Cell phones must be turned off and put away while in the school building. Thank you for helping us by reminding your children of these school policies!

The Diocese of Joliet is offering a free virtual parent workshop focused on balancing stress and parenting during the pandemic. Consider attending “Keep Calm & Carry On: Finding Balance in Uncertain Times” led by the social-emotional experts at Friendzy. Click here for more information.

For Thankful Thursday this week, we would like to recognize the Johanneson Selling Team, one of our Blue & Gold sponsors. Lori Johanneson is one of our ASCA parents; be sure to contact her team if you are looking to buy or sell your home soon!

Lastly, we recognized one student this morning for a Saintly Act: way to go Matthew G. in 3rd grade!

Warm regards,

Margie Marshall
