Saints Speak from Mrs. Marshall - 3/17/2022 - Spring is Coming

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Here’s an Irish Blessing for you today:

May the road rise up to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields,
And, until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Tomorrow is the last day of the 3rd quarter, and report cards will be coming home next Friday, right before spring break. When we return from break, we know time will really start to fly! Please read this entire Saints Speak message for some important updates as you plan for the end of this school year and for next fall.

We are finalizing next year’s calendar and should have a detailed update for you next week! In the meantime, below are key dates to assist with your planning. The calendar structure is very similar to this year’s, except for Christmas Break when we will have extra time off AFTER New Year’s instead of before Christmas.

  • First day of school: Wednesday, 8/17/22
  • Christmas Break: No School Friday 12/23/22 – Friday 1/6/23 (classes resume 1/9/23)
  • Spring Break: No School Monday 3/27/23 – Friday 3/31/23
  • 8th Grade Graduation: Friday 5/26/23
  • Last day of school for PK & Kdg: Friday 5/26/23
  • Last day of school for 1st-7th grade: Friday 6/2/23

With the first day of Spring this Sunday and warmer weather on the horizon, the following uniform changes are coming soon:

  • Girls in grades 4-8 are required to wear tights through the end of March.
  • Uniform shorts may be worn on non Mass Days beginning on Monday, April 18. No uniform shorts on Mass days.
  • Gym shoes may be worn on non Mass Days beginning on Monday, April 18. No gym shoes on Mass days. Remember that gym shoes must be primarily white or black with one accent color - no neon.
  • Shorts may be worn on out of uniform days beginning on Monday, April 18. Shorts must be long enough, or parents will be called to bring a change of clothing. For girls, the length of shorts should be no higher than the ends of their fingertips when their arms are at their sides. Additionally, no flip flops, open toe sandals, spaghetti straps or strapless tops on out of uniform days.

Please make sure that your student's name is on the inside of their jacket or sweatshirt as these layers are often shed as chilly mornings lead to warmer afternoons.

New Family Referral Credit:
When current school families who are happy at All Saints refer brand new school families, we would like to say thank you with a New Family Referral Credit . If you were:

  • a family new to ASCA this 2021-2022 school year and
  • you have been enrolled for the 1st three quarters of this school year and
  • another school family recommended All Saints to you or positively influenced you to enroll your student(s) at ASCA this year,

the family who referred you may be eligible for a referral credit of $250 toward their Family Fundraising Obligation (FFO). Please let us know more about the referring family by clicking here to fill out a short form. And remember that YOU may be eligible for a referral credit in the future when you share your All Saints experiences with potential new school families.

Questions? Please contact Patty Bajek at pbajek@ascacademy.org.

2022-2023 Tuition Payment:
As a reminder, we require a $250 non-refundable payment per family that will be credited to next year’s 2022-2023 tuition . This payment will be charged to your current FACTS agreement, and payable by Friday, April 15, 2022. Families who do not pay this amount, which will be credited to 2022-2023 tuition, will forfeit their student’s enrollment spot at that time.

Last chance for DDA instant buys!
If you missed the DDA, you can still take advantage of the Instant Buys! Go to asca22.givesmart.com today and you can still get Out of Uniform Passes and Break A Rule Passes, plus there are still still spots available for several of the class parties. These items will close Friday evening, so don’t miss your chance!

Spring Book Fair:
The Book Fair is back next week in our Library, so don't forget to set up your eWallet this weekend for easy shopping for your student(s). Login here to set up your eWallet. This is the easiest way to get some new books for your kids in time for spring break!

Although the fair is a lot of fun, it is a bit of work and we could use your help. We have several time slots open for volunteers, so if you have completed your volunteer paperwork, and can spare an hour or two we would be most grateful! It's such a fun event to work since you get to interact so closely with the students and enjoy the company of other parent volunteers in the process. Check the signup genius for available time slots.

Congratulations to our 6A Boys, 8A Girls, and 8A Boys basketball teams, who all won their Championship games last weekend! We look forward to celebrating these students in the coming weeks.

On Saturday, the Inter-parish Marriage Enrichment Team and St. Elizabeth Seton are presenting “Dreaming Together,” and there is still space available! Click here for more information.

Today is our first Thankful Thursday of 2022! On Thankful Thursdays, we honor the generous DDA sponsors who helped make our event a success. This week, we’d like to thank Buchar Wellness Center. Please check out their website to learn more about how this ASCA family-owned business might be able to assist with your personal health needs!
