Saints Speak from Mrs. Marshall - 11/3/2021 - Feast of All Saints

Saints Speak is a day early this week, as there is no school tomorrow or Friday for Parent-Teacher Conferences and Staff Development. We look forward to seeing many parents tomorrow for conferences! When you come for your conferences, please enter through Door 1. All conferences will be held in the classrooms; we will have maps available at the Welcome Desk if you need help finding a room. Please make sure you are on time for your conference and respectful of the end time so the teachers can stay on track throughout the day. Masks are required at all times in the building.

On Monday we celebrated the Feast of All Saints! We began the day with a beautiful mass led by our 4th graders. Throughout the day, students spent time in the classrooms learning about the saints and how these ordinary men and women have led lives of love and service. One of my personal favorite saints is St. Francis of Assisi. I am often reminded of his famous quote, “Preach the Gospel at all times. If necessary, use words.” The saints have modeled for us how we can preach the Gospel in our daily actions as we all strive to become saints.

Monday was also our first ever All Saints Catholic Academy Day of Giving! We had a great day celebrating our school community, looking at throwback pictures, and engaging with one another on social media. Thank you to those of you who joined the celebration throughout the day and contributed so generously. We raised over $10,000 for our school with this inaugural event! Congratulations to those who won our challenges:

  • Alumni Class of 2017 will have a pizza party over Christmas Break!
  • Current 7th grade class (Class of 2023) and their families will have an ice cream party!

Thank you to Juanita Giraldo and Carolina Zavala for organizing a great Trunk or Treat last weekend! It was so much fun seeing all the creative costumes and car decorations. Thank you to all who participated!

The 2020-2021 Year End Financial Report and 2021-2022 Budget Report for ASCA are being sent home in hard copy today with all youngest and only students. If you have any questions regarding this report, please contact Christopher Johanneson, Finance & Operations Committee Chair, at christopherjohanneson@gmail.com.

We hope all our students and families have a restful and safe long weekend!

Warm regards,

Margie Marshall
