Saints Speak from the Principal - 1/21/2021 - January News
Dear Parents,
Welcome to the second semester of the school year! The beginning of a new quarter or semester is always an exciting fresh start.
Report Cards
Report Cards are going home tomorrow, Friday, January 22. Please look it over with your child, praise him/her for their accomplishments, and discuss areas you believe could be improved. With the availability of SchoolSpeak, you probably already have a good idea of what your child’s Report Card will look like. This is a good opportunity for you to get a snapshot of your child’s progress.
Busses
A few parents have asked if ASCA will be resuming bus service. The answer is, not at this time. In the building and on ASCA grounds, we can oversee the students, and make sure that Covid Protocols are being followed. That just can’t happen on the busses. We feel that at this time the safest thing for our students is for carpool pick up to continue.
Thank You
The collection for the St. Thomas Care Pantry was overwhelming! We received a thank you from the director. The MLK Thank You Cards were beautiful. I know that it will bring a smile to each person who receives one. Thank you for helping your child with these cards.
Catholic Schools Week (CSW)
Catholic Schools Week is just one week away!! It begins on Sunday, January 31st. There are so many fun, but safe things planned for the students! Remember that the Open House is totally virtual this year to keep everyone safe. I have attached a calendar, but here are a few things to make you aware of the attire for the students throughout the week:
- Monday - Color Day. Students will wear the color of their grade level and jeans.
- Tuesday - Pajama Day. Students will wear school appropriate pajamas.
- Wednesday - Crazy Sock Day. Students will be in uniform except for their socks as this is a Mass Day.
- Thursday - Sports Day. Wear clothing to support your favorite sports team.
- Friday - CSW T-shirt Day. If this year’s shirt was ordered, students may wear it with jeans. If the shirt was not ordered, students should be in school uniform.
This is one of the most fun weeks of the entire school year!
God Bless,
Mrs. Cyndi Collins
