Saints Speak from Mrs. Marshall - 9/24/2026 - Fantasitc Fun Run!

Tomorrow is the day – the Fun Run is finally here! We’ll begin the day with Mass, as we do each Friday, but with a special guest this week. Bishop Conlon, the retired bishop of the Diocese of Joliet, will be our presider! If you’re planning to join us for Mass, please RSVP here by noon today. The sign ups for our October Masses are open now as well. We welcome Bishop Conlon and look forward to having him with us for Mass as we kick off our exciting day.

Earlier this week we hosted our parish clergy for lunch to discuss how we can continue to strengthen relationships among ASCA, its parishes, and you, our shared families. We also took group photos of the students from each parish, with their parish priest(s). We are so grateful that many of you are involved in our school community. I encourage you to also get involved in your parish community, where you can spend time with other ASCA families as well as your fellow parishioners, growing closer to God and one another. 

In October, we’ll be having ASCA family Mass at our parishes as well. Dates will be shared next week, and Sr. Maria will be reaching out soon for student ministers. We hope to see you there!

Fun Run

I know you’ve gotten a lot of emails from me about this, but WOW – your support of the Fun Run has been amazing! Thank you! Competitions among classes conclude tomorrow, but we will continue to collect any last-minute donations and distribute individual student prizes through next week. When I checked this morning we had raised $98,458 – we are so close to our stretch goal of $100,00, which will earn the students a special assembly! Congratulations to 1C as well, who earned a pajama day from their donations yesterday! Here’s what you need to know for tomorrow’s run:

All students should wear their black “One Body in Christ” t-shirt with out of uniform bottoms and gym shoes. 

Run times are below. Parents and loved ones are invited to join us on the recess pad to cheer on the students. It will be a great day!

• 9:35-10:05 - Preschool & 8th grade
• 10:10-10:40 - Kindergarten
• 12:10-12:40 - 1st grade
• 12:45-1:15 - 2nd & 3rd grades
• 1:20-1:50 - 4th & 5th grades
• 1:55-2:25 - 6th & 7th grades

Next Week: All School Photo and Fall Uniform Guidelines

Wednesday, September 30, we will be taking our all-school photo in the morning. We ask all students to wear their “One Body in Christ” t-shirt today, with uniform bottoms. (This will be the last request to wear this shirt for a while.) If any Tuesday/Thursday preschool students would like to join us for the photo, please come to Door 1 at 8:30am.

As we enter fall, dress code expectations change on Thursday, October 1^st. Beginning Thursday, shorts may no longer be worn until the spring. Please note that for junior high girls, tights are not required until November 1^st.

Progress Reports & Eligibility Checks

Next Friday, October 2^nd, marks the halfway point of the first trimester. Younger grades will be sending home progress reports. For the upper grades, we encourage you to check your child’s progress in FACTS if you have not done so recently. Eligibility checks for athletics and extracurricular activities begin on 10/2 and take place each Friday for the rest of the trimester. Earlier this week, Mr. Murawski and I spoke with any 5^th-8^th grade student with a failing grade, discussing expectations and offering support to get them back on track. We want everyone to be in a good place as we approach next Friday. 

Blue Out for Fall Athletics

Tomorrow is our Blue Out! Come join us in the gym at 6pm, 7pm, and 8pm to cheer on our 8^th grade volleyball teams in one of their final home games. 8^th grade Cross Country and Flag Football athletes will be honored before the 7pm game. Any ASCA students in attendance will get an Out of Uniform pass!

If your children are attending Blue Out (or any home games), please remember to monitor their behavior, especially if they are outside the gym. We love having a full house for our home games but ask that students spend that time in the gym cheering on our teams!
