Saints Speak from Mrs. Marshall - 3/5/2026 - The Holy Habit of Hospitality
Our saint this week is St. Katharine Drexel, and we have been learning about the holy habit of hospitality. St. Katharine gave her time, talent, and treasure to others, founding a religious order and then using her own money to help the order open schools serving the underprivileged, especially Native Americans. When we practice the virtue of hospitality, we make all feel welcome and included. We respect our differences and celebrate that we are all God’s children, made exactly the way God intended each of us to be. St. Katharine led by example and inspires us all to be welcoming to those around us, regardless of our differences.
Report Cards
Second trimester report cards are going home tomorrow. The report card is yours to keep, The envelope should be signed and returned to your child’s homeroom teacher on Monday. Honor Roll lists will be shared in next week’s Saints Speak and recognized at Mass next Friday.
After teachers prepare the report cards, I spend time reviewing each one before they are sent home tomorrow. I love seeing the results of the students’ hard work throughout the trimester. They have made so much progress!
In reviewing report cards, I noted several students with excessive tardiness or absences. While some absences cannot be avoided, especially during cold and flu season, please make every effort to ensure your child is at school and arriving on time. Daily attendance ensures that they are not missing important instruction, and arriving on time each day allows them (and their classmates) to fully engage with the day’s routines, starting off the day in a positive manner without falling behind. Click here for more information on the importance of school attendance. Thank you for your partnership!
