Did you find any burned out bulbs during your Christmas decorating?  From now through April 1, 2014, used holiday lights can be recycled at the Department of Public Works Recycling Drop-Off Center, located at 180 Fort Hill Drive. Residents may discard lights that no longer needed at the drop-off center during its normal hours of operation on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 8 am to 4 pm They may also be dropped off in the vestibule of the Public Works administrative offices during normal business hours, Monday through Friday from 7 am to 4:30 pm.

Accepted lights include:

• Rope
• LED
• Extension cords

ASCA, along with many other schools in the area, will be teaming up with Raging Waves Waterpark in Yorkville, Illinois for their Plunge into Fitness challenge. All students at ASCA in K- 8th grade are invited to Plunge into Fitness this spring as Raging Waves Waterpark joins the battle against childhood obesity. The fitness initiative will run from February 17th through April 11th, and each child completing the program requirements during this seven-week period will receive a free Raging Waves full day admission pass valued at $28.  All K-8^th grade students will receive a fitness log (extra fitness logs per grade level are available in the school office) from Mrs. Abrams the week of February 10^th.  Starting February 17^th students will color in one item on the fitness log for every 30 minutes of exercise.  After 25 hours have been logged, students can turn in their log sheet to Mrs. Abrams the week of April 11^th.  Soon after, students will receive their free waterpark pass to be used this summer.  If you have any questions, please contact Carla Griffin at carla_griffin@ipsd.org.

Please make a note on your upcoming calendars.  There will be no busing all day (to and from school) on Thursday, March 20, Friday, March 21 and Friday, March 28 for District 203 bus riders.  You will need to arrange for alternate transportation for your student on those particular days.  All other buses will be running.

Our next Market Day will be held on Wednesday, March 19^th, with product pick-up from 2:30 - 3:30 pm in the gym (enter through Door 9). As a reminder, at least 10% of your pre-tax order will be credited to your annual fundraising commitment.  This is the first Market Day of the 2014-2015 school year; starting in March each year, proceeds are credited to the coming year. You are encouraged to place your order at www.marketday.com and pay by credit card.  The deadline for internet orders is Saturday, March 15th, at 11:00 pm.  All Saints Catholic Academy's school code is 27119.  Volunteers are needed to help sort and stack the food.
