Ms. Sandra Friesen is excited to join the All Saints team as the STEAM teacher after being a substitute teacher for the school last year. Over her 24-year career in education, Sandra has taught PreK-6th Grade in Canada, England, Germany, Texas, Pennsylvania and Singapore. She holds a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Early Childhood Education from Ryerson University in Toronto, Canada, as well as her Post-Graduate Certificate in Education from the University of Exeter in England. In 2010 Ms. Friesen was awarded her Masters in Education with a focus on Early Childhood Education from Carlow University in Pittsburgh. She is passionate about learner curiosity. She believes in the power students hold in questioning, investigating and reflecting during the learning process.
In addition to teaching, Ms. Friesen is an avid crafter, spending her free time making her own greeting cards. She also uses her creativity to bake cookies, squares and cakes for her family and friends. Sandra loves to travel with her family, taking time to go off the “tourist trails” and explore new places. She is the mother of three children Miriam 12, Jakob 14, and Rachel 16, and fur mama to their family’s 3 year old lab mix Opal.
