Karen has been a teacher in the Diocese of Joliet for over 10 years. She loves teaching at ASCA because she is able to teach the whole child; the mind and spirit! Her favorite quote is from Maya Angelou: “People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” She treats each student with dignity and compassion and starts each day as a new day, with a smile and a positive attitude. Her teaching philosophy is all kids can learn but they learn at their own pace. She meets her students where they are and helps them develop and grow from there.
In her free time, she loves spending time with her husband, her 3 children, family, and friends. She loves boating, gardening, reading, and doing anything outside with her dog. She earned her undergraduate degree in Management from Purdue University and her MA Ed. from Benedictine University.
