ASCA Girl Scout Troop 51102 - Called to Serve

Did you know that St. Agnes is the Patron Saint of Girl Scouts and gardeners?  Coincidentally, St. Thomas the Apostle has a “twinning parish, St. Agnes, which is located on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation (Lakota Indians).  The St. Thomas team talked to the pastor, Father Peter, about their needs for the coming winter. He indicated the need for blankets, sleeping bags and gently used children's coats, hats, gloves, scarves, sweaters, and sweatshirts.  If you can help, please send your items directly to St Thomas, which is located at 1500 Brookdale Road, Naperville.  Thank you in advance for your generosity!

Outdoor Luminary Mass

The 20th annual “Light of My Life” outdoor Mass will be held in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery, corner of Columbia and North Ave., Naperville on Sunday, October 12, 2014 at 6:15 pm.  THIS MASS FULFILLS YOUR SUNDAY OBLIGATION, SO BRING THE FAMILY.  The intention of this evening is to dedicate a luminaria as a silent tribute to any person(s) who may have touched your life in a special way, deceased or living, past or present.  Bring your own chairs or a blanket to sit on.

You do not have to be present to participate.  Each luminaria will have the individual’s name on it, and it will be placed within the cemetery and remain lit well into the evening.    See the Sts Peter & Paul Luminary Sign Up if you are interested.

OH SNAP! Saints-in Service

We're making it even easier this year to showcase your child's service in the community!  Instead of sending in a service form detailing what type of service your child has done, simply snap a photo of your child while they are serving. Then, email the photo to jazediker@comcast.net, and it will be displayed in a slide show throughout the halls of ASCA. So get your cameras snapping!  We will be accepting photos all year long.

Benet Academy Cheerleading Clinic

The Benet Academy Fall Cheer Clinic for kindergarten through 5th graders will be held on Wednesday, October 22 and Thursday, October 23 from 6 – 7:30 pm in the Benet gym.  The cost is $40, and includes a t-shirt.  Participants will be invited to cheer along with the Benet Varsity Cheerleaders at halftime at the Benet Academy Varsity football game on Friday, October 24.  Please see the Benet Cheerleading Clinic Information flyer at the school website.
