Meet the Pope Francis Daily Surprise

Fr. Bill sent me a link to the Pope Francis Daily Surprise (it’s free at the App Store) and I am enjoying a daily quote from our Holy Father.  It is quite amazing that in just a year he has offered quite a number of words to live by. Enjoy!

Diocesan Parent Survey

The students and staff of ASCA completed a survey for the Diocese of Joliet school accreditation process.  It is now YOUR turn to be heard.  Please do not miss this opportunity to offer your observations and opinions on your child’s school and education.  The deadline to complete your survey is this Saturday, March 1.

In order to complete the survey, please go to:

http://www.advanc-ed.org/survey/public/section/response/begin?surveyConfigId=198309  or Parent Survey

Please be assured that your responses to this survey will be anonymous, and your honest opinion is appreciated.  Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.

Palms

We will be burning palms prior to Ash Wednesday next week. If you would like, please send in your palms from last year by this coming Monday, March 3. Thanks in advance. Our Lenten theme is Following Matthew: Transforming into the Kingdom.

The CAR LINE

We need a bit of clarification of our car line procedures once again….and a sincere effort to follow the procedures for the safety of our children.

  1. Last year the Naperville Police Department  did a traffic analysis and recommended that at high exit times like AM and PM  drop-off and pick up, we restrict our exit to right turns only.  The signage reflecting this procedure went up this fall. The signage directions should be followed.  We did neglect to change it in the on-line Parent Handbook; however, we will be making the correction shortly.

  2. In both the AM and PM, we have a high volume of cars that are on the grounds in the car line to reach the child safety zone.  You are to double up in the line on the west side of the building.  Once the line starts (if you do not double up, we spill out onto Aurora Ave), you should alternate when the line moves into a single line as it comes around the north side of the building.

  3. Please remember that Door 1 is not a place where you can “drop-off”, or have your child come unattended to your car. If you go to the Door 1 lot, you must park and walk your child to and from the school.

Cell phone usage while children are present is a dangerous thing. Please don’t do it.

Wednesday Rosary

Beginning next week on Ash Wednesday, and all Wednesdays of Lent, the Rosary will be prayed just before Mass in the gym.  Besides being a great way to receive additional graces and to honor Mary, our spiritual mother, it is a wonderful way to share our faith with the students as they enter for Mass.  Please join us in the gym at 7:55 am (if you are running late – come anyway!).  Instruction sheets and extra Rosaries will be available.  Your younger children are welcome!  Please contact Darlene Newman at newmdar@gmail.com with any questions.
