MaryAnn Porlier has been teaching at ASCA since 2012 but has officially been teaching 1st Graders for over 16 years! She lives in Naperville with her husband, Keith. They have two children, Zachary and Faith, and a son-in-law, Charlie. She also has a big, sweet Akita dog named Libby! Aside from teaching, Mrs. Porlier enjoys taking care of her home and gardens. Perennial gardening is her favorite! She also spends time running, walking, and doing yoga.
Mrs. Porlier’s academic background reflects her passion for education, especially Primary education. She holds a B.A. in Elementary Education and a Master’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction. She also has a Master’s in Reading & Literacy and is a Certified Reading Specialist.
First grade is a very exciting and significant year for growth! Mrs. Porlier is dedicated to promoting positive learning experiences so that her students may develop confidence and willingness to explore, take risks, and find success within a nurturing, learning environment.
