Jenna Selvick is one of our Junior High Language Arts teachers. She teaches both 7th Honors and 8th grade. This school year is her 14th year at ASCA. She has held a variety of positions at All Saints-she previously taught 6th grade Language Arts along with serving several years as a Special Education Aide/Resource Teacher at ASCA; Jenna was even a substitute at ASCA in the school's early years! She holds a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with Reading and Social Studies endorsements as well a minor in Sociology from Elmhurst University (previously Elmhurst College).
What Ms. Selvick loves most about working at All Saints is the sense of community the school provides. Students, staff, and families make every day feel like she is with family. She loves discussing literature with students and witnessing their creative process as they write, but she also cherishes having the freedom to discuss religion and how the pieces reflect the students' faith. She enjoys being able to watch students grow and mature throughout their Junior High experience. Ms. Selvick also loves getting to hear about all of the accomplishments of her former students and ASCA alumni.
When Jenna isn't reading, writing, or shopping, she enjoys spending time with her family, who all live close by. This summer she took her three-year-old niece on a tour of local libraries while babysitting. She loves traveling to warmer climates, preferably some place with a beach. However, most of the time she and her family end up in an RV in northern Wisconsin.
