Saints Speak from Mrs. Marshall - 10/2/2025 - Acts of Kindness Help Us Get to Heaven
This week we are learning about the holy habit of goodness and talking about St. Francis of Assisi, one of my favorite saints. St. Francis truly modeled goodness, treating everyone and everything he encountered with respect. I have always loved the Prayer of St. Francis because it calls us to do good for those around us, reminding us that our ultimate goal is heaven and acts of kindness help us get there. It recognizes that we all face hardship and struggles. There is much pain in our world, but this prayer calls us to see the good and to be the good, letting Christ work in us and through us. Take a few minutes today to say the prayer of St. Francis and let the words speak to your heart!
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace:
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.
O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console,
to be understood as to understand,
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Reminder: Parent-Teacher Conferences
As a reminder, we have a short week next week! There is no school Thursday for Parent-Teacher Conferences and no school Friday for a faculty development day. If you haven’t already done so, go to your FACTS Family Portal account to sign up for a conference. Sign-ups close on Tuesday to give the teachers an opportunity to prepare for the conferences on Thursday.
If you are doing a virtual conference, the teacher will send you a link next week. If you are meeting in person, please enter and exit through Door 1. In all cases, please arrive on time and expect to finish the conference on time. The teachers look forward to meeting with you and continuing to partner with you in support of each child’s learning and growth.
Lost and Found
We have already accumulated many items in the Lost & Found. If your child has lost something, please have them check next week or check yourself when you are here for conferences Thursday. Anything left behind after conferences will be donated.
Thank You!
Everyone had a blast at our Trivia Night last Friday! Thank you to all who helped make the night a success, especially Amanda Solomon who coordinated the event. The event raised $3,760, which will support school safety improvements. We hope for an even bigger crowd next year!
Blue Out
Tomorrow is our Blue Out! Come join us in the gym at 6pm, 7pm, and 8pm to cheer on our 8th grade volleyball teams in one of their final home games. We will recognize our 8th grade Cross Country runners before the first game as well. Any ASCA students in attendance will get an Out of Uniform pass!
