Welcome

Here's what's happening this week....Students finishing "Mandala of Hope"

A Mandala is a circular design that has radial symmetry.  The first Mandalas were made of sand and some current artists use natual objects such as flowers or fruit to create a beautiful piece of art.  Students have designed the center image of their Mandala's which are symbols that represents the artists journey while making the piece of symmetrical art.  The process of making a Mandala can bring a sense of peace to the artist and viewers. Students are also adding symmetrical radial designs  to their Mandala. During  last week and this week atudents worked hard to add color to thier Mandalas and wrote an artist statement about what they have enjoyed while being at home and what they hope for the future. I have also asked students to keep these beautiful works so I can quilt them togther when we meet again. I will also be uploading them to Artsonia which is our Art fundraising where you can have the artwork made into a keepsake and part of the purchase goes back to the art room.  Look for an email from Artsonia once it is uploaded. (Make sure your childs name is clear on their art work!)

Here is sneak peak of these beautiful Mandala's of Hope!!
